સાચી દયા: એક દરજીની અનકહી કહાની | Gujarati Story

एक छोटे से गांव में एक वृद्ध दर्जी रहता था। वह पूरा दिन सुई-धागे से नए-नए डिज़ाइन के कपड़े बनाकर शहर में बेचता और काफी पैसे कमाता। वह हमेशा अपने काम में व्यस्त रहता था। उसकी बनाई डिज़ाइनों को सब बहुत पसंद करते थे। धीरे-धीरे वह दर्जी गांव का सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति बन गया।

एक दिन एक गरीब आदमी दर्जी के पास आया। दर्जी अपने काम में व्यस्त था। उस आदमी ने आकर दर्जी से कहा, “आप इतने अमीर बन गए हैं, तो गांव के लिए कुछ कीजिए।”

दर्जी ने कोई जवाब नहीं दिया और अपने काम में लगा रहा।

उस आदमी ने फिर से कहा, “हमारे गांव का मोची कितना कम कमाता है, फिर भी वह गरीबों को एक वक्त का खाना पहुँचा देता है। आप तो इतना कमाते हो, आप भी कुछ तो कर सकते हो।”

दर्जी फिर भी कुछ नहीं बोला। वह आदमी नाराज़ होकर चला गया। फिर उसने गांव में यह बात फैला दी कि दर्जी बहुत लालची है और सिर्फ अपने बारे में सोचता है। धीरे-धीरे पूरा गांव दर्जी से नफरत करने लगा।

एक दिन अचानक दर्जी का निधन हो गया। गांव में मोची के अलावा कोई भी उसके अंतिम संस्कार में नहीं गया। कुछ दिन बाद मोची ने गांववालों से कहा, “अब मैं आपको मुफ्त में खाना नहीं पहुँचा पाऊँगा।”

लोगों ने पूछा, “क्यों?”

मोची ने कहा, “अब तक खाने का सारा खर्चा दर्जी ही देता था। अब वो नहीं रहा, तो मैं इतना खर्चा नहीं उठा सकता।”

तब गांववालों को समझ में आया कि उन्होंने दर्जी के बारे में गलत धारणा बना ली थी।

In a small village, there lived an old tailor. He would spend the entire day stitching creatively designed clothes and sell them in the city, earning a good amount of money. He was always busy with his work. Everyone loved his designs. Gradually, this tailor became the richest person in the village.

One day, a poor man came to the tailor. The tailor was deeply engrossed in his work. The man said to him, “You’ve become so wealthy now, why don’t you do something for the village?”

The tailor didn’t respond and kept working.

The man continued, “Look at our village cobbler. Even though he earns very little, he still manages to deliver one meal a day to the poor. You earn so much, surely you can contribute something too.”

Still, the tailor said nothing. The man got angry and left. Soon, he spread rumors in the village that the tailor was greedy and only cared about himself. Eventually, the whole village started to hate the tailor.

One day, the tailor suddenly passed away. Except for the cobbler, no one from the village came to his funeral. A couple of days later, the cobbler told the villagers, “I can no longer provide free meals.”

The villagers asked, “Why not?”

The cobbler replied, “All this while, the cost of the food was being paid by the tailor. Now that he’s no longer with us, I cannot afford the expense alone.”

That’s when the villagers realized they had completely misunderstood the tailor.
