ઉંદરની મજેદાર ટોપી

एक उंदर था। उसे रास्ते में एक अच्छा सा कपड़े का टुकड़ा मिला। उसे सोचा, "आओ, इससे एक मजेदार टोपि बनाऊँ।" वह कपड़े का टुकड़ा लेकर दरजी के पास गया।

उंदर ने कहा, "दरजी भाई, दरजी भाई, मुझे एक टोपि सिलकर दो।"

दरजी ने कहा, "जा, जा, तुम्हारे जैसे उंदर के लिए टोपि सिलने का मेरे पास समय नहीं है।"

उंदर ने कहा, "क्या? तो मैं सिपाही को बुलाऊँगा। बुरा मजा चखाऊँगा। खड़े-खड़े तमाशा देखूंगा।"

यह सुनकर दरजी डर गया। उसने कहा, "नहीं, नहीं भाई। ऐसा नहीं करूंगा। लाओ, तुम्हारी टोपि सिला देता हूँ।"

उसने बहुत सुंदर टोपि सिला दी। उंदर खुश हो गया। फिर उसे ख्याल आया कि इस मजेदार टोपि पर थोड़ा कढ़ाई होती तो और अच्छा लगता।

वह कढ़ाईवाले के पास गया और बोला, "भाई, मुझे अपनी टोपि पर शानदार कढ़ाई करवा दो।"

कढ़ाईवाला बोला, "जा, जा, तुम्हारे जैसे उंदर के लिए कढ़ाई करने का मेरे पास समय नहीं है।"

उंदर ने कहा, "क्या? तो मैं सिपाही को बुलाऊँगा। बुरा मजा चखाऊँगा। खड़े-खड़े तमाशा देखूंगा।"

कढ़ाईवाला डर गया। उसने कहा, "नहीं, नहीं भाई। ऐसा नहीं करूंगा। लाओ, तुम्हारी टोपि पर कढ़ाई कर देता हूँ।"

उंदर खुश हो गया। फिर उसने सोचा, "अगर इस टोपि पर मोती भी लगे तो कितना अच्छा लगेगा।"

वह मोती टांकनेवाले के पास गया और कहा, "भाई, मुझे मेरी टोपि पर सुंदर मोती टांक कर दे।"

मोती टांकनेवाला बोला, "जा, जा, तुम्हारे जैसे उंदर के लिए मोती टांकने का मेरे पास समय नहीं है।"

उंदर ने कहा, "क्या? तो मैं सिपाही को बुलाऊँगा। बुरा मजा चखाऊँगा। खड़े-खड़े तमाशा देखूंगा।"

मोती टांकनेवाला डर गया। उसने कहा, "नहीं, नहीं भाई। ऐसा नहीं करूंगा। लाओ, तुम्हारी टोपि पर मोती टांक देता हूँ।"

उंदर बहुत खुश हो गया और नाचते-गाते हुए घर जाने लगा।

तभी राजा के सिपाही आए और उंदर से बोले, "ए उंदर, तू यहाँ से हट, राजा की सवारी निकलने वाली है।"

उंदर ने जवाब दिया, "नहीं हटूंगा। राजा की टोपि से तो मेरी टोपि कहीं ज्यादा अच्छी है।"

यह सुनकर राजा गुस्से में आ गया। उसने सिपाहियों से कहा, "यह उंदर की टोपि ले आओ।"

उंदर गाते हुए बोला, "राजा भिखारी… राजा भिखारी… मेरी टोपि ले ली… मेरी टोपि ले ली…।"

राजा ने सिपाहियों से कहा, "इसकी टोपि वापस कर दो, मुझे भिखारी कहा है।"

सिपाही उंदर को उसकी टोपि वापस कर देते हैं।

उंदर खुशी-खुशी गाते हुए अपनी टोपि पहने और घर लौटने चला गया।
